A catch up with friends, a yummy breakfast, Blanco Lounge at Middlebrook was buzzing when I attended on Saturday. It was a sunny and rainy Saturday and I was due to meet my friend for a lunch and shopping date, but as someone who is currently on a diet plan, I needed something healthy and on plan.
A last minute decision took us to Blanco Lounge, a restaurant that honestly…I hadn’t even heard of! On digging, it appears to be part of a wider chain called The Lounges. With such a wide menu which you can see here, I instantly honed in on the salads & bowls. I eventually chose the Chicken, Bacon & Avocado Salad (minus the avocado which is absolutely not for me), costing £14.50. The salad contained grilled herby chicken, smoked bacon, red onion, mixed leaves and cherry tomatoes with toasted seeds, aged Italian cheese and Caesar dressing.
I chose to order at the bar instead of on the app, as it wasn’t properly working for me due to signal. I paired my salad with a large diet coke, and my total bill was £17.95. There was a small mishap with the kitchen forgetting to take off the avocado, but it was replaced really quickly and both the server and the kitchen were very apologetic. Of course this was absolutely fine as it was preference and not an allergy. I completely cleared my plate and it was absolutely delicious. The fact it was on plan was definitely a bonus!
Looking at the menu, I would definitely say my choices would have been different if I wasn’t watching what I ate. The Berries & Maple Mascarpone Triple-Stacked Buttermilk Pancakes would have been my perfect brunch option, or definitely the Tapas for dinner. Alongside that? Definitely a Double Chocolate Oreo Milkshake (drooling).
All that being said would I return? Absolutely. When I came to research other locations for inclusion in this post, I actually learned that I have been to one of their other locations, Calico Lounge in Chorley, for drinks earlier this year. It has definitely made me want to try eating there. It was a great atmosphere, great food and great company, which made a fabulous Saturday.
